Funny....
I know I've been absent for a while. It started out with my laptop going haywire. I took it to have it repaired but I was told to wear black cause it needed to be buried. A few days later I bought a new laptop but I've been lazy to be honest. However, I want to start out with funny things Dylan has said and done.
1. On Monday evening on the way home from school, Dylan said, "Mommy, the lady at school says we get to wear our school t-shirt and jeans tomorrow. Oh yeah, we need to bring a canned good too!" I said, Ok, but I'd already set out our clothes for the week so I didn't think about it. Well, yesterday morning, I gave him his clothes to get dressed; however, once I went in the kitchen it hit me that he wasn't wearing his t-shirt and jeans. So, I told Dylan he'd have to change clothes. Once we got to his room, he said, "Mommy, what's happening to you?" I said, "What?! What are you talking about?" He replied, "You keep forgetting things." I said, "Dylan, what have I forgotten?" He said, "You forgot about Sparkle Day." I said, "What was a boy like you going to wear on Sparkle Day-nothing!" He said, "Well, what about today?" I looked at him like seriously?! He forgets what I tell him in less than 1 minute. SMH......
2. My brother and Dylan's dad spoil him whenever they see him. So, he has a habit of asking for toys whenever he knows they're coming or around. He always has a good reason why he needs them to but I don't fall for it. Tonight, I explained that he does not need anything. He has more than enough and he needs to quit asking people (he doesn't ask everyone) to buy him things. He said, "What about the Indian children?" I said, "What Indian children?" He said, "The ones that don't have any toys?" I said, "What about them? You're not asking for toys for them." SMH.....always tries to play me!
3. One night while watching the news, a Vesicare commercial comes on. On the commercial, they're describing the basic symptoms. After it goes off, Dylan says, "Mommy, I need some Vesicare because I'm not feeling well." I said, "Dylan, what symptoms do you have?" He said, "They said if you're not feeling well & I'm not." I said, "I'm pretty sure you don't need that."
4. Last Tuesday was the first day back from Christmas vacation, Dylan woke up that morning and the first thing out of his mouth was "I wonder if my friends missed me." I said, "Well, even if they didn't, you'll be ok. It's no big deal." Normally, when he arrives to school, a group of girls flock to him, screaming his name. This morning was no different. Before they could reach him, he sticks out his hand and says "Wait, did you miss me?" They start talking and telling about their break and he said, "Well, did you miss me while I was on my vacation or NOT?" They said, "YES!" Another mom was there and she knows him very well. She asked, "Dylan, are you a celebrity?" I just shook my head and left. I thought Dylan, the school was closed last week, everyone was on vacation.
5. While in Sears, I see a $12 watch that Dylan could get me for Christmas. I said, "Dylan, what are you going to buy me for Christmas?" He said, "I don't know yet." I said, "Well, I'd like this watch." He said, "I don't think so, this is expensive. You know expensive means it costs a lot of money. So, I don't know if I can buy you that watch. I'll have to see. I looked at him and said, "Seriously?!" As though, I wouldn't be the one buying it........
6. He's obsessed with my hair. He doesn't want me to wear my hair in a ponytail. He just likes me to wear it down. Well, this week I've been wrapping my hair up before going to the gym. After gym, I go to pick Dylan up. Tonight he asked me, "Why have you been wearing your hair like that when you come to pick me up?" I said, "I've been going to the gym and this helps my hair to look good. You don't like it?" He said, "Well, a little but I like your hair down cause it looks better." SMH.....
